The Harvesters is a ministry here at Berean Community Church that serves young adults in their 20s-30s, with a dedicated focus on the single community.
Rochester is a unique town in that it has many people moving in from out of state to work at Mayo, IBM, other businesses or attend college. This can leave a large number of people searching for a church home and/or a circle of close friends. The Harvesters exists to help meet both of those needs!
We provide a family like environment for people to find new and lasting friendships as they learn about and grow closer to God. We meet Sunday mornings at 9am in room 101 for Adult Enrichment Class (AEC) and then head to the 10:30am worship service together. During the week, we meet for Bible study, which is offered on two nights of the week to help accommodate the dynamic schedules of the group. We will also plan 2-3 activities a month to help us build relationships, most of which involve serving the local body at BCC or the community here in Rochester. One of our favorite activities is enjoying lunch on Sunday's after the service. We'll all head out to a restaurant or we'll head over to someone's home and have a more relaxing "kick your shoes off" kind of meal. Either way, it is a great time to share stories from the week, catch up with what's going on in each other's lives, discuss what we learned at church earlier in the day and invite new friends and guests. Check out our calendar/events links here on this page or visit us on Facebook (group = Harvesters) for the latest information with regards to what's happening in the Harvesters. You can also sign up to be on our email distribution list, which we use to send out our latest announcements every Monday as well as emergency or reminder announcements throughout the week.
Even though The Harvesters is a targeted singles ministry, we are always open to anyone who might find the things we are doing fun and interesting. In fact, there are still many past Harvesters who have moved on to marriage who still like to join us for Bible study or any of the other many things we do, and who remain committed & active members in our ministry.
So singles, this is your place! Stop by and see us anytime. We'd love to have the opportunity to serve you!
And you non-singles, know that if this seems like a ministry you'd like to be involved in, you are also welcome to stop in and be a part of what God is doing in and through us!
As a ministry, we are open to having God use us to serve anyone in anyway we can!
